The cooler weather this week has me thinking about the fall migration. Anyone starting to see pods of fish gathering for their fall marathon swim yet? I'm hoping to make the most of the next few weeks, as time and weather allows. After a summer of pogies, seals, sharks, and a lull in striper activity- the smaller bait has re-appeared locally.

I am very far from an expert on such a topic, and am looking forward to exploring the next couple of weeks to try to come up with a theory... but so far, I found slightly smaller fish, in all the same places as they have been for most of the summer. I have heard that the mackeral are back at the mouth, which seems like a good sign. Also the 70 degree water taht we enjoyed during august to cool us off was down to 56 degrees on teh same tides last weekend. So, I would guess that is a trigger, which makes me think that whatever is about to happen is probably going to start happening soon. :)
The macs are definitely back. We caught a few around the steel post after spotting a great white finning on top just to the north On our last venture outside. The boat is now on the neighbor‘s dock slip- making it easier to head out. Now to find time...
oh- and the peanut bunker have started schooling up.
Sunrise outgoing this weekend. I like those.
Are you going to camp? Might have to plan a morning of fishing or cocktails one evening.
Yup, will be there. Saturday to Monday. Sunday or Monday AM would be great. You’re always welcome to pull up for a cocktail!
