After visiting the Midcoast last weekend and fishing north central Maine the weekend before, on Saturday I headed downstate to fish a southern stream - the conditions were perfect for any time of year, let alone late November - I fished this pretty stream at 4 locations in 3 towns but only landed 1 smallish Brown Trout - but, like I'm fond of saying (maybe because it happens too often) the difference between 1 & zero is immense...I more than made up for it in trash though - the people in this river valley seem to be more interested in "saving" their dams than keeping garbage out of their river - at any rate it beat shoveling snow by a mile! The undam(n)’d sections of that river are absolute jewels. Great cold water inputs If you know where to look. Hopefully saner heads prevail and the lower miles of the river are allowed to run free.
