Floatant
Wondering what everyone uses for floatant and if anyone has tried the new Loon floating?

Dry Magic. I’ve tried them all; and nothing even comes close to this stuff. Now, truth be told, it’s expensive at +/_ $14 per tube; but this stuff flat out works.

i went back to an old standby, Albolene. I used it years ago and it always worked very well. You can find it in a drugstore - it's a moisturizing cleanser. it costs about $13 for a 12oz. tub. I haven't tried it on CDC yet so that's a bit questionable there.

I’ve always done the shake and bake method with the wet floatant, cast a little, then dry shake it and clean it off. read it somewhere and it stuck.

The Loon stuff works fine for me. I also probably only apply it once, then use Frogs Fanny once it (hopefully) gets slimed.

Never had an issue with Gink on flies that it will work on (hackle and hair), and then the silica dust to suck water out of it... I do have some cdc oil that works on CDC flies, and then I just use silica again.

Top Ride by Loon is superb. Perfectly named.
