Bamboo Mini-Conclave this Saturday
This weekend a group of FFIM-ers will be gathering at the Lawrence Middle School Gym to try out and learn about some bamboo rods. A number of owners are bringing their rods (including some real gems I hear!) for others to gawk at and cast, and author Kathy Scott and her husband rod maker David Van Burgel will have some education programs ready for those interested. Whether you own some cane, or simply aspire to, anyone is welcome, so come on up, with or without bamboo!
Logistics:
Where: Lawrence Middle School Gym
When: Saturday, January 31st, 8:00AM to Noon
Directions:
Heading into Fairfield (east from I-95 Exit 35) you will pass a Texaco mini-market on the left, Gene's Market and a driveway into Pike Industries on the right, then, after a small wetland on the right, an unnamed paved access road to the back of the school. Go to the next street on the right, just as the residential area begins. This is School Street. Turn right. The Jr High is the first of two complexes just up School Street. Look for a sign over the door, "Williams Center". Enter there and the way to the gymn and Kat's library and resource center will be revealed.
Check out the Discussion for more info, some of the expected attendents and the cane they are bringing.
