Description:
Starting at Moosehead Lake on Rt 6 & 15 between Greenville & Rockwood, the East Outlet flows 3 1/2 miles over boulder strewn riverbed to Indian Pond. A prettier stretch of water is hard to find anywhere. The East Outlet falls under Fly Fishing Only, 1 fish law, May through September. An extended season keeps the outlet open through October with catch & release regulations in effect.

Depending on the water flow from the dam at Moosehead the wading is very good at 500 - 2000 cfs (cubic feet per second). Above 2000 cfs and wading starts to become limited with 3000 cfs about tops. You can call a toll free number to get estimated water flows on a daily basis. ( 800-557-3569 )

Because of yearly run-off from snowpack in the region it would be safe to say that wadable water usually don't occur till mid-May.
