The Atlantic States Maritime Fisheries Commission (ASMFC) is the body that manages the East Coast striper fishery. Two proposals will be voted on at their November meeting: Increasing the commercial striper quota and revising the way they determine the Juvenile Abundance Index (JAI) - how they assess the population of young fish.
